I'm Matt, a photographer, writer and long-distance cyclist, based in Singapore.
I'm originally from the UK. My work took me to the Middle East and then across Asia; today I'm based in Singapore and work throughout the Asia-Pacific. This place is deliberately the other half: somewhere to keep the photographs, the long rides, and the things worth writing down. You'll also find me on LinkedIn.
Most of what I make starts with going somewhere and paying attention, a back lane in Singapore, a climb that didn't go to plan, a quiet gritstone edge in the Peak District. SG Observed 26 is my current project: looking closely at this city, one place at a time, a photograph and a few words each.
I'm also writing a book. No Easy Route to 43 is a cycling memoir, forty-three stories and the bicycle between them, due late 2026, published by Dalby Studio.
None of it is in a hurry. It's gathered slowly, and added to as the road allows.
Adventures, stories and memories, gathered slowly, and kept.
